FRANCONIA VILLAGE XC SKI CENTER
Trail Conditions
Updated 2/25/2026
2/25 - Trails have firmed up considerably, but the recent dusting of snow should provide some good conditions.
2/21 - SHORT REPORT: Airfield, Ham Branch Loop, and trails behind the Inn are groomed and tracked
2/21 - DETAILED REPORT: Got 4 inches of heavy snow overnight. The warm temperatures are challenging conditions to groom, but we were able to groom and track the trails listed above. The track set up surprisingly perfect in a lot of areas, not so much in others, but overall the skiing will be great. The snow was too heavy to get to the steeper trails, our ATV cannot pull the groomer up big hills when the wet snow accumulates in front of it. This means that Middle Earth and the Tuckerbrook trails will be solid for backcountry skiing, but more challenging for Nordic.
2/19 - Without new snow, we haven't been able to groom for the last several days, but the trails are still in good condition and the skiing is solid. Warm temperatures have softened things up a bit, and there could be a few wet spots out there. Looking forward to the predicted snow over the next couple of days for more grooming.
2/13 - Groomed and tracked Airfield, Glide Path, Ham Branch, River Run, Flat Track Circle, and Beaver Bend. The track is not as deep as I'd like in places, but conditions are still very good.
2/12 - Rolled and packed all trails besides Middle Earth and Lovett's Inn (might get to those tomorrow). Planning on grooming and tracking Airfield, Glide Path, Ham Branch, and the trails behind the Inn tomorrow morning/afternoon.

Nestled in the heart of the White Mountains, the Franconia Village XC trails offer 30km of unparalleled scenic vistas amid a variety of beginner-to-expert trails on groomed and ungroomed terrain. Take a loop around the airfield with a landscape view of the Kinsman Mountains, or weave through the trees and over rivers on the trails behind the Inn. You can even take Middle Earth all the way to Lovett's Inn!
Please note, XC skiing is NOT permitted on the groomed fat bike trails. Please stay on the cross country ski trails.
